Black Dunes Press publishes books built to be lived in. That is the simplest way to say what we do. We are a small independent press with a deliberately wide range, and everything we release is chosen to reward a reader who pays attention.
Our catalogue grows along three lines.
The first is the AnunA universe: a body of epic fantasy anchored by the Fivefold Hand Saga and extended through standalones and companion works. AnunA is a single, continuous world. Its cities, its histories, and the laws that govern how its reality behaves are all tracked against one master reference, so that a fact established in one book still holds three books later. Readers who want a world they can trust, one that answers to its own rules, will find a great deal to map here.
The second is The Silence Files, a near-future techno-thriller series published under the name Theo Rennick. Where AnunA looks inward at an invented cosmology, The Silence Files looks a short distance ahead at our own. It is set in a northern Europe roughly a generation from now, in a society run by automated systems and semi-private authorities, and it asks a quiet, uncomfortable question about how the truth actually disappears in a place like that.
The third line is non-fiction: practical, useful books published under their own names for readers who want something they can put to work the same afternoon they buy it. Different shelf, same standard.
What ties these together is a shared approach rather than a shared genre. We build each project slowly, we hold it to a house standard of craft, and we keep our worlds internally consistent, whether the world is an imagined field of forces or a train timetable a generation from now. We would rather publish one book that holds up on a second reading than three that do not survive the first.
This blog is where we open the workshop a little. Some posts come from the house, as this one does. Others carry the name of the author who wrote the book in question, because a fantasy saga and a cold systems thriller are not written in the same voice and should not be introduced in one either. You will find pieces on the worlds themselves, on how a particular book came together, and, now and then, on the practical craft behind the non-fiction.
